Tucked away on the third floor of the 808 Center building, you will find Third Space.
Founded by husband and wife duo Monica and Caameron, Third Space Coffee is the culmination of their gratitude and appreciation for the communities that supported them, their experience living in the Pacific Northwest, and their passion for specialty coffee.
Our mission is to be a “third space” for the community - a place to spend time that’s outside of work or home, where anyone can come in, enjoy a memorable cup of coffee, and return for the hospitality and warmth they felt from our shop.
Meet The Team
Caameron
A man of many pursuits. Caameron attended the University of Portland, where he began as an education major, turned business major, turned sociology major, and graduated with a master’s in computer science from Portland State University.
After graduating, Caameron enjoyed the work-from-home life as a website developer, making himself coffee at home. When the pandemic hit, Caameron found himself diving deeper into coffee - researching pour-over methods, experimenting with making espressos using a Flair, and attempting to roast his own beans. When he and Monica decided it was time to move back home to Hawai‘i to be with family, he believed this was also the right time to pursue a new dream - opening a coffee shop together.
Caameron began his barista journey at Starbucks, then at Bean About Town in Kaimuki.

Favorite drink on the menu: hot pour-over, preferably a light roast with fruity notes.
Hobbies: running, reading, and gaming
Pet peeve: His wife leaving her socks all over the house...
Monica
A former middle school teacher turned barista. Monica attended the University of Portland and taught in Beaverton, OR for nearly a decade before returning home to Hawaii to pursue a new dream - opening a coffee shop with her husband.
After spending many hours grading papers at a multitude of coffee shops in Portland, she was moved and inspired by the communities they built and the hospitality she received. Each place she visited served an exceptional cup of coffee, but what always made her return was the kindness of the staff and the warmth of the spaces they created.
After resigning from teaching, Monica took her first steps toward her and her husband's dream working as a barista at Ki Coffee in Beaverton, OR, and at 9Bar HNL in Salt Kaka‘ako.

Favorite drink on the menu: the St. John's (brown sugar-cardamom latte) made hot!
Hobbies: indoor rock climbing, journaling, and watching anime
Pet peeve: when people don't push in their chair (too many times has she had to push in her students’ seats...)
